Participants will learn how to

  • Invent More Ideas – Learn how to create 8X more new and non-obvious ideas than traditional brainstorming. You will identify and measure innovation
  • Persuade Others – Learn how to increase the persuasion power of your writing by up to 5X and clearly communicate strategic missions and customer centered ideas
  • Ship Ideas Faster – Learn how to deliver new solutions and ideas 6X faster using a documented, data-driven, fast & cheap cycles of learning process for development
  • Jump Start Your Work – Learn how to Jump Start your thinking and projects using new innovation skills and tools for estimation, collaboration and prototyping your own challenges

How the Course and Certification Work

  • Access the JumpStartYourBrain cloud-based learning portal to complete video micro lessons and quizzes before attending the workshop sessions (about 4 hours to complete the pre-work).
  • Attend a two-day live workshop where participants experience the skills with case studies and coaching.   Assignments are submitted on-line for grading and feedback until each skill is mastered. The completion date for this segment is February 28, 2022.
  • Apply the innovation skills to a business challenge resulting in tangible outcomes. The 5-step project is completed individually or (recommended) as a company team over 8 weeks following the workshop.  Teams meet with a VMEC facilitator for 2-hour coaching sessions between each step, resulting in 4, 2-hour coaching blocks.
  • Reflect on the course experience thinking deeply about what you’ve learned.  Submitting this written reflection is the final assignment.
  • Receive IE Blue Belt Certification!  when all course work has been submitted and approved; this final step demonstrates that the learner has mastered the fundamental skills of Innovation Engineering!

Read below what one attendee says about his IE experience:

“My overall thought is that the concepts in IE were familiar to me, but the IE training tied them all together in a systematic way that seems very helpful to consistently achieving success. I despise systems that are burdensome and add no value. Thank you for putting together a great system, teaching method, and tools. I am looking forward to putting my knowledge to work.” – Keith Epstein, Owner, Forecast LLC
