Noontime Knowledge – Update on Food Safety Post-COVID-19
12:00PM - 12:45PM
COVID-19 has impacted many aspects of food manufacturing. Some food manufacturers have increased production in response to the increased demand of their product by consumers who switched to cooking at home. The early disruption in the supply chain appears to be on track to become fully normal in a few months and as states start to reopen, many food businesses are seeing manufacturing activities similar to pre-pandemic times.
But what has changed about food safety requirements? What are the federal agencies and the industry doing to maintain the safety of the food supply? How is the food industry implementing food safety practices in comparison to pre-pandemic times? This presentation will briefly summarize some of these topics based on field experiences by the presenter. The presentation will also include time for participants to ask questions related to food safety for manufacturers.
This session will be hosted by Omar A. Oyarzabal, founder and food safety consultant at Safe Food Team, LLC.
