Brad Bauman Receives ASQ-Certified Quality Auditor Status

Randolph, VT – The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) is pleased to announce that Brad Bauman, VMEC Professional Manufacturing and Business Growth Advisor, has completed the requirements to be named an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor, or ASQ CQA. As such, Brad has reached a significant level of professional recognition, indicating a proficiency in and a comprehension of auditing principles and practices. “ASQ provides certification as a way to provide formal recognition to professionals who have demonstrated an understanding of, and a commitment to, quality techniques and practices in their job and career…this is a great accomplishment,” according to Mr. John Timmerman, ASQ chair.

In order to sit for the Certified Quality Auditor examination, an individual must have eight years of work and/or experience related to the Body of Knowledge. Certified Quality Auditor is a professional who understands the standards and principles of auditing and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting to determine a quality system’s adequacy and deficiencies.

Brad Bauman, P.E., joined VMEC in November 2004. He holds a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University. With more than 25 years of hands-on engineering, management and process improvement experience, Brad now works with VMEC clients to identify where organizational improvement is needed and helps these organizations develop effective countermeasures that lead to improved performance. In addition to his ASQ CQA certification, Brad holds a Lean Bronze Certification and is recognized as an LBC-Sensei under the guidelines of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), American Society of Quality (ASQ) and the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing.

According to VMEC Director / CEO Bob Zider, “The VMEC Team is very proud of Brad’s latest accomplishment and well-deserved ASQ recognition. Achieving this professional milestone, with the deep learning, broad knowledge and proficiency it represents, will surely benefit the range of Vermont companies that VMEC assists with implementing quality systems that may include but are not limited to: ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 13485 (Medical Device Quality Management), ISO 14000 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management), ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility) and the new ISO 27000 (Information Security) standard which Brad has recently been working with a Vermont company to implement.”
