VMEC News Release – VMEC Releases 2024 Impact Report and
30th anniversary Impact Report
Randolph Center, VT – VMEC, Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center, has released its annual impact report. As Vermont’s only singularly-focused resource for manufacturers, VMEC is the official representative of the MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) National Network in the Green Mountain State. And in recognition of their 30 years in business, they have also compiled the results of their history since opening their doors in 1995.
VMEC’s federal partner, NIST, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, has used an independent third-party organization to conduct surveys of VMEC clients as well as other MEP Centers across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Highlights of the Vermont FY 2024 annual report include:
-
Over $31,000,000 in increased and retained sales
-
433 total jobs created; this figure includes direct, indirect and induced jobs
-
Over $33,000,000 in employer wages and benefits for these jobs
-
Nearly $8,000,000 in client investment and modernization projects
-
An average annual compensation of $69,000 for Vermont manufacturing employees, compared to the average Vermont compensation of $62,000
-
Client return on investment equals 331:1 meaning every one dollar clients spent on VMEC assistance returned an average on that investment of $331. This figure is based on company-reported data over the past three years, April 2021 through March 2024.
Highlights of the 30th anniversary Impact Report include:
-
Over $400,000,000 in increased sales and over $570,000,000 in retained sales
-
Over $121,000,000 in investment savings
-
Nearly 4,600 jobs retained
-
Over $187,000,000 in plant and equipment investments
-
A history of VMEC throughout the years and words from manufacturers and others served over the last three decades
“The support of our clients, partners and stakeholders over the last 30 years of VMEC’s existence is a testament to the partnerships created and maintained. Thank you to all who have worked for and with VMEC over those years,” states Center Director & CEO Patrick Boyle. “With the support and dedication of so many on a local, regional, statewide and national level, we are able and honored to deliver our mission of strengthening and empowering Vermont’s manufacturers on a daily basis.”
