Chris Coulter
Principal - Business Development and Partnerships
(802) 373-3537 [email protected]A problem solver by nature, Chris has been helping product development and manufacturing companies overcome challenges throughout his career. He has been instrumental in developing new products and implementing manufacturing technology in regulated industries including defense, medical devices and ISO/ FDA environments.
Chris earned a mechanical engineering degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where projects and teamwork were hallmarks of their engineering program. Chris has collaborated with customers, partners, suppliers and engineers on design and manufacturing engineering, including automation, on a large portfolio of products. With an affinity for advancing entrepreneurial ventures, Chris has worked with multiple small and start-up companies. In 2002 he started his own business, Adaptive Engineering, LLC, a consulting company focused on assisting Vermont-based product development and manufacturing companies.
Chris joined VMEC in 2021 to assist companies with advanced manufacturing technologies and automation as the manufacturing liaison to The Manufacturing Collaborative and Advanced Manufacturing Center based on the VTSU Randolph Center campus. In spring 2026, his role transitioned to Principal – Business Development and Partnerships.
When not solving problems for Vermont manufacturers, Chris can be found mountain biking, backcountry skiing, or exploring the outdoors.
