Free workshop – Cybersecurity Resiliency for Defense Contractors

RANDOLPH CENTER, VT – The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC), along with the New England Regional Defense Industry Collaboration and the New England MEP National Network Centers, is pleased to announce the first in a series of free half-day trainings on “Cybersecurity Resiliency for Defense Contractors”.  This first session will take place on Thursday, February 13 from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park, Vt.

With current and future Department of Defense (DoD) contracts at stake, compliance is a strategic necessity that contractors can’t ignore without potential consequences.  With third-party certification audits scheduled in 2020, time is running out for manufacturers to reach compliance.  This event will focus on understanding the consequences of noncompliance and how to ultimately achieve compliance.  Through this support, defense contractors will learn exactly what steps to take to ensure the protection of all information as well as the future of their business.

This event is free of charge to all participants with registration required.  Space is limited and manufacturers and defense contractors will be given first preference. Subsequent, complimentary trainings of this type will be offered during the year throughout Vermont and New England.

These trainings will be presented by cybersecurity experts from the Connecticut MEP, CONNSTEP.  In addition to the MEP National Network, the following New England MEP National Network Centers are also supporting the event for defense contractors with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) cybersecurity compliance: MASS MEP, Maine MEP, Polaris MEP, CONNSTEP, New Hampshire MEP and VMEC.  The Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC) and the Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD) are also supporting this event in Vermont.
