ExporTech™ Training Program Scheduled for Winter / Spring 2017
Randolph Center, VT – The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC), with support from a number of planning partners and sponsors, has scheduled the fifth session of a proven program designed to help small- and mid-sized Vermont manufacturers and other interested companies boost their sales through profitable exports.
ExporTech™ provides companies with a systematic process for entering or expanding in global markets and connects them with the best international business experts in the region. The program assists participants in developing a peer-reviewed export growth plan, quickly moving them from planning to closing export sales. Since 2007, 166 ExporTech™ programs have been delivered in 33 states with over 865 participating companies generating over $400 million in total program sales to date. The program is limited to 4 to 8 companies at a time, with up to 4 leaders from each company attending. This hands-on, content-rich program involves a unique combination of innovative group sessions held in three full-day training sessions over a period of approximately twelve weeks plus, individualized, expert coaching that takes place between the three training sessions.
Session training dates are February 15, April 5 and May 10, 2017, and will take place at the Hampton Inn, Colchester, VT. State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) grants are available to assist eligible “small business concerns” in entering and succeeding in the international marketplace. Services under the STEP Program are funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Vermont ExporTech™ STEP 5 grant funding is available through September 2017.
In addition to VMEC, the primary ExporTech™ planning partners include: State of Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development, Vermont Global Trade Partnership; Vermont Small Business Development Center; State of Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets; Vermont Economic Development Authority; U.S. Small Business Administration; NIST MEP; U.S. Commercial Service and FedEx.
Registration for eligible companies will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, and applications for program participation will be reviewed and approved in the order received. For further information, please visit https://vmec.org/event/exp
