Under the American Innovation and Competitiveness Act (P.L. 144-329), the national MEP Advisory Board provides the NIST Director with: (1) advice on the activities, plans, and policies of the Program; (2) assessments of the soundness of the plans and strategies of the Program; and (3) assessments of current performance against the plans of the Program.

According to VMEC Director & CEO Bob Zider, “We are thrilled that Pat will now be able to have direct impact at the national level, providing her knowledge and insights to help strengthen and grow the MEP National Network™ across America.  Pat is bringing the 15-member MEP Board many years of hands-on experience addressing rural state economic development issues, along with innovative leadership and experience in education, workforce training, and talent development in manufacturing and beyond.  Her advice and counsel will help NIST MEP and the MEP National Network™ fulfill industry’s expectations for MEP’s manufacturing support and hands-on assistance programs. By identifying and supporting proactive actions, the MEP Board will help the MEP National Network™ enable manufacturers to successfully address impacts of the many significant challenges and opportunities they face as the speed of change in business and technologies continues to accelerate across manufacturing and its supply chains.”
