VMEC Announces Three Different ISO 9001:2015 Quality Series Offerings

RANDOLPH CENTER, VT – VMEC is offering three different training opportunities appropriate for organizations considering ISO 9001 and to those already certified to ISO 9001:2008. ISO 9001 is a process-based approach to documenting and reviewing the structure, responsibilities and procedures required to implement an effective quality management system in any organization. A new revision of the ISO 9001 quality management system standard, ISO 9001:2015, was released in September of last year.   Some of the key changes include an increased focus on alignment of the quality system to business strategies, an emphasis on risk-based thinking and improved applicability of the standard to services.  Companies currently certified have three years from last September 2015 to align their quality management systems to the new ISO 9001:2015 edition standard.

ISO 9001:2015 Overview will take place on Monday, May 9, 2016 at GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction.  This  full-day session will review the full standard, why it changed, what the key changes are and how they will impact your quality system, how to approach implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and how to prepare for transition to ISO 9001:2015 from your existing QMS.

ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Training will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 10 and 11, 2016 at GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction. This two-day session is a deep dive into the ISO 9001:2015 standard and how to perform audits to the ISO 19011:2011 guidelines.  This course is designed to increase your understanding of auditing techniques and will take you step-by-step through the stages of an internal audit, from audit planning to closure and follow up.

ISO 9001:2015 Collaborative is an intensive, 6-month course, commencing in June with completion in November 2016.  The collaborative is purposely designed for you and your team to work side-by-side with other small- and medium-size companies to upgrade or develop your Quality Management Systems to ISO 9001:2015 Standard for compliance and/or registration.  One day per month in the classroom, plus five, day-long company on-site consulting/coaching sessions, as well as work assignments, round out what will be a valuable learning opportunity for you and your company in its quality systems implementation.

According to VMEC Director & CEO Bob Zider, “While some organizations already ISO 9001 certified to the older ISO standard might be pleased with it in that form, the new ISO 9001:2015 edition is considered by experts to be a major revision that brings ISO’s best selling standard “firmly into the 21st century” and is “a game changer.”  The 2015 revision is clearly a response to the many changes that have been taking place in global commerce, business diversity and technology.”

All ISO quality sessions will be taught by Jim Saropoulos, Principal at ExoLytic, Inc.  Jim has 30 years of operations and quality experience in multiple industries from manufacturing, high technology, aerospace, telecommunications and ISO registration bodies. His background as trainer, consultant and implementer includes ISO 9001, AS 9100, ISO 27001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, TS 16949 quality system design and implementation.
