VMEC News Release – VMEC Launches Manufacturing Exchange-Vermont (MXVT.org)

Randolph Center, Vermont –  The Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) has launched a new cloud-based platform, Manufacturing Exchange-Vermont (MXVT.org), whose primary mission is to connect people and supply chains to deliver solutions. It gives manufacturers and suppliers access to needs and capabilities in a virtual, collaboration space that empowers innovative thinking, helps solve problems and can create new business opportunities. Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, the initial focus of the Manufacturing Exchange has been on enabling and accelerating connections between urgent health-related equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) needs, Vermont manufacturers, suppliers and other collaborators who have capabilities to provide products and needed solutions.

According to VMEC Director & CEO Bob Zider, “VMEC will continue to execute its long-standing mission to strengthen and empower Vermont manufacturers by providing systems and solutions to help innovate, plan, perform and grow. We are deeply committed to work with many long standing and new partners to multiply and leverage our collective impact. VMEC is steadfastly committed to Vermont’s full recovery and future growth, especially for our critical manufacturing sector and its expansive ecosystem.  We especially encourage all Vermont manufacturers and suppliers to visit www.MXVT.org where they can actively engage in expert-moderated, COVID-19 Response, Recovery and Resilience-building forums to learn and solve problems. We expect more working groups to emerge that are focused on specific needs and business opportunities, enabling us all to more rapidly solve problems together.”

Founding Vermont partners involved with Manufacturing Exchange-Vermont include: Vermont Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD), the Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC), Associated Industries of Vermont (AIV) and Vermont’s  Regional Development Corporations (RDCs) across the state.

About VMEC: Part of the nationwide MEP National Network™ and hosted by Vermont Technical College since 1995, VMEC operates as a not-for-profit with a primary mission, “To strengthen and empower Vermont manufacturers.”  A local resource and trusted adviser to enterprises of all sizes, the VMEC team brings world-class expertise in consulting, coaching, hands-on implementation support, training and education for leaders and workers.
